Global Smart Solution Report 2018
1st Publication, co-launched by ICDI, TCA, ICLEI KCC

During COP23, global and regional leaders have issued the Bonn-Fiji Commitment, signifying the strong commitment and intention of local and regional leaders working in partnership with all levels of government to achieve the Paris Agreement. To put the commitment into practice and live up to sustainable development goals, it is also essential to connect policy, science and business communities to explore "smart" solutions and facilitate real breakthroughs on tackling urban challenges.
This year, building on the momentum of Taipei Smart City Summit & Expo 2018 (SCSE), International Climate Development Institute (ICDI), Taipei Computer Association (TCA) and the ICLEI Kaohsiung Capacity Center (ICLEI KCC) co-launched a publication
initiative- "2018 Global Smart Solution Report: City Challenges and Innovations" to showcase selected smart
city achievements around the world. Aiming to mark and make transferable the exemplary
practices during this grand event, together we sincerely invite cities to share their smart
solutions by contributing the Solution Description to us.
So far, we have collected 14 cases classified into 7 themes. The selected cases will be openly acknowledged and honored in the SCSE. And the final publication will be announced at the side event during COP24. City governments and private sectors are welcomed to submit their city solutions in the view to facilitate cities' capacity of addressing climate change.
